Hey I'm Naomi and I'm a 4th year Geology Specialist. I'm interested in learning about petrology and geological evolution of continents. I'm super excited to see the range of rock types on this trip and the beautiful tropical flora and fauna!

I'm Peter Leith, I will be graduating this spring with a degree in Geophysics. I've worked across Canada and I'm excited to see how the geology in Trinidad compares to what we have back home.

Hi there! I’m Betka and I’m a fourth year studying geophysics and astronomy. Although most of my times is spent studying applied geophysics for mineral exploration I’m also very interested in plate tectonics. I’m super excited to be plate hopping and enjoying some time on the beach.

Hi, my name is Joy! I'm a third year geology specialist interested in mineral exploration! It's my first time in the Caribbean and what i'm looking forward to most is adding to my rock collection and beating everyone up the volcano :)) (and also the beach!!).

Salutations, I'm Tess a fourth year undergraduate student studying physics and physical geography with more than my fair share of earth sciences classes under my belt. I take all challenges to hike up ridiculous looking climbs very seriously and have a knack for getting up inordinately early to do said hikes.

Hi. I'm Chantal, a graduate student (MSc.) and my project aims to link where ore deposits are forming today to the tectonic/structural setting. I plan to go into VMS exploration and/or Development upon graduation. I am most excited about the power boat ride between volcanic islands!

Hey all, I'm Alex! I've just finished my undergad in Physical Geography, Geoscience & GIS. I've done field work on both coasts of Canada with some great people along the way. If I'm not studying rocks, I'm probably climbing them. Can't wait to explore a new region and learn all the history these rocks hold!

Hello! I'm Keenan, a third-year undergraduate student studying Astrophysics and Geophysics with a passion for Planetary sciences. I'm currently focussing my attention on volcanism and am absolutely thrilled for our hike across La Soufriere in St. Vincent!

Hi! I’m Ivano, a fourth year geology specialist with an interest in hard rock geochemistry and ore deposits.
I hope to go for a master’s after graduating to further my knowledge before pursuing mineral exploration as a career. I am most excited for the hikes on this trip, especially climbing an active volcano.

Hi, I’m Marc. I’m a second-year undergrad double-majoring in Earth and Environmental Systems and Ecology and Conservation Biology. I’m fascinated by the interactions between living organisms and their abiotic environments. For this reason, I can’t wait to see Trinidad’s mud volcanoes.

Hi there! I'm Adam, 5th year Geology Specialist and volcano enthusiast. I'm thrilled to be traveling again with the Earth Science department, and I'm extremely excited to see the fascinating geology of Trinidad and of St. Vincent firsthand.

since Ed’s Montserrat and Antigua trip in 2017. I’m most looking forward to seeing the petroleum geology
source, trap, and seal rocks in outcrop in Trinidad, and climbing a volcano - obviously :D.

Dr. Ed Spooner - Academic Leader (prof. emeritus): I started as a Prof. at the U. of T. in the Jurassic, that is in
fall, 1977. Previous field trips to the Caribbean were St. Lucia-Barbados 2015 and Montserrat-Antigua 2017.

Dr. Laurent de Verteuil - Senior Trip Adviser: I am a petroleum geologist and UofT alumnus with long experience working Trinidad, Southeast Asia, and basins in between. I especially look forward on this trip to interacting with current dept students and to experiencing the St. Vincent geology and flora.
